Silver Treasures of Hohenschwangau Castle in Bavaria, Germany

Updated: May 19, 2023

The Royal Castle of Hohenschwangau was built by King Maximilian II of Germany (father to Ludwig II) in year 1832. It is home to some of the most incredible silver treasures that we have ever seen on the planet as well as bronzes and other decorative works of art.

When touring the home, you will see a pervasive swan theme throughout the castle. The level of detail and craftsmanship on the pieces is just simply amazing.

The castle is directly adjacent to Neuschwanstein Castle. When visiting there, definitely do both castles as they are both well worth the time spent. You will actually get more time on the guided tour of Hohenschwangau.
